New rank badges

The old GM rank badges are quite old. Even though I could restore them, at the moment there are none. I was thinking maybe we could have some volunteer graphic designers create some new rank badges and post them here, then we could vote on which ones we like the best.

If there are any members here that want to give it a try, we need rank images for:
these ranks:

MODERATOR

GLOBAL MODERATOR

ADMINISTRATOR

They don't have a to be a certain size except they do have to fit beneath the user profile. Also they have to be either .jpg or .gif image format. You can try putting in .png although that may slow the board down loading large images. If you can make the images under 6K that would be nice too.

Any thoughts? Any Volunteers? Or should I just restore the old ones?

I'll tell you what happened, exocrew decided to create a quota for disk space at 150MB.

I was using images stored in the older phpBB that we had when we had version 3 installed here. I created a backup board but never moved the images. So now I removed the old phpBB board and along with it went the images too, that was to save space.

I had to get us below 150MB, we were topping out at 200MB. Anyways, I just thought we could use some new images for the ranks.

Not bad. I would like to hear from Lion, scottytoohotty, and Reno to see what they think before deciding though.

Also member input would be useful.

But I like it. I'm not sure if it goes with the board though, I have to re-think that.

I do see how we can do a nintendo style peek-a-chu thing, or mario brothers thing. The logo we have is HitMan from the series (third game in the series due out next year I think).. so its a franchise and will be around for quite awhile.

However having old-school characters for the badges does add something.

This board is not all first person shooters and rpgs, there are other games that do exist that have "fun" as the theme. I'm just wondering if that would look more attractive.

I do know one thing I think its better than the old one in my opinion.

I think reno mentioned to me once that the old one looked too much like Night Rider.

And the old global mod badge looked like a disco dancing light. The old moderator badge looked like sliding metal doors.

So this is break from what we had before, which I think is good. However I do some feedback from others before deciding.

Alright, because there were no objections or even any other comments on your image rank for the admin badge, I installed it as the official badge.


@lo XD:

Can you use the same theme you used for the admin badge and design the others?
Try and keep them 120x50 like the other one.

Now we just need:

Moderator, and Global Moderator


The old badges are here in this topic just so you can see where your new badges will appear -->HERE

Your badges will automatically re-size to the right dimensions. Also all member avatars are now re-sized to 120x120 no matter what dimensions the originals are. Also, all the user topic ranks are auto-sized at 120x13.

I hacked that mod in this morning. I will keep that little bit of info "un-documented".

I kept the same grunge theme ask requested and I stuck with the Nintendo theme. Just let me know what you think.

I like both of them. I will install them now and if anyone objects, then we can make changes when the time comes. Right now they look great to me. Good job!

I like the theme and the grunge look. It's unique and it fits the theme just right.

I've been busy since before xmas. I didn't even see this topic till just now. They're good rank badges. I like the softer nintendo feel. I use to play kirby on my black and white game boy back in the early nineties.
