GM Expirement

I am trying out an expirement that may provide a way to make or members want to post threads (topics) rather then only replying to posts.

The ranks system on phpBB is bases solely on number of posts.

Currently, looks like this:

Babbo 1 post
Thug 25 posts
Young Turk 50 posts
Goomba 75 posts
Enforcer 100 posts
Consigliere 125 posts
Earner 200 posts
Associate 300 posts
Godfather 500 posts


Okay, now what if.. jus what if.. instead of the ranks being based on
posts, they were instead.. based ON NUMBER OF TOPICS CREATED?

This opens up an entirely new dynamic to the GM and I did a search, there is no mod that does this UNTIL NOW.

I created it myself, its active and its working.

To modify the ranks, just modify them as normal as though they are still based on posts.

If you don't like this idea its reversible, I only had to modify 1 line in one file and about 10 lines in another file to make this mod work.

Its a tiny little hack but its so powerful and I guarantee you no other forum has this.

So if someone has a post count of 300 (associate) but only has 18 topics created, then technically as of now they are still back at "babbo". (you need to have made 25 topics to be promoted to a Thug!

I won't announce this to the members, I will let them figure it out on their own. If they are curious enough they will PM me about it.
